RC Celta strike innovative partnership with VUZ to offer new fan experiences with 360º immersive content
  • RC Celta’s agreement with the leading immersive content platform represents a unique opportunity for the club to continue growing in the MENA region both in terms of fanbase and new commercial relations. 

Over the past few seasons, RC Celta have produced several brilliant pieces of content and have gained many new followers as a result. This trend is only set to continue now that RC Celta have signed an exclusive deal with VUZ until 2026, with the immersive content platform becoming an official partner of the LALIGA EA SPORTS club.

As the first LALIGA club to reach such an agreement with the platform, RC Celta will benefit from the UAE-based company’s cutting-edge technology. The two entities will work together to create engaging behind-the-scenes footage and they’ll do so using 360° technology, allowing fans to see a side of the club that is usually hidden. Content will be filmed in the dressing room and other parts of the stadium on matchdays, while there will be footage of the first-team squad and academy sides from the training ground on other days of the week.

RC Celta are excited about this alliance and stated: “We have great hopes for the VUZ project, as they are set to become one of the most significant international content platforms in the medium to long term. Their commitment to 360° immersive content, and how it is presented for consumption and entertainment, is unique. In addition to the exclusive behind-the-scenes content, there will also be content related to the youth academy, given that we are a leading club in terms of training and development.”  

Meanwhile, Khaled Zaatarah, the CEO and founder of VUZ, said: “Through our cutting-edge 360° content, fans will have unprecedented access to the behind-the-scenes moments that make RC Celta truly special. It’s about bringing fans closer to the club and the players they love.”

Increasing engagement through impactful content

This partnership with VUZ is just the latest step in RC Celta’s commitment to producing exciting content that can both resonate with local fans and make an impact globally. A clear example of this was seen last year when the club collaborated with the artist C. Tangana for the song and video ‘Oliveira Dos Cen Anos’, which was heard and watched around the world.

Discussing the value of investing in quality content, the club explained: “As well as growing the followers we have across different segments (age, gender, nationality...), we also greatly increase fan engagement. Of course, another important part is the exposure and visibility we gain via the third-party media or channels which want our content.”

In the case of VUZ, one other associated benefit is the chance to work with a leading company from the MENA region, which is an increasingly important territory for football clubs. RC Celta said of the new partner: “The fact that they are from the MENA region is a very good opportunity for us to continue growing in that region, in terms of fans and new business relationships. At the same time, the partnership with us is a tremendous help for them in their international expansion and mission of making quality and exclusive sports content.”

This, then, promises to be a fruitful partnership for all parties, as VUZ will be able to work with a LAIGA club for the first time, RC Celta will be able to publish new and more immersive 360° content and the fans will have a new kind of access to the team and the players.
