New Signings By LaLiga Clubs
  • A look at new talent and promotions at the league and in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank clubs.

Talent both on and off the pitch plays a major role in the success of LaLiga and the clubs. Here’s a look at recent signings and moves when it comes to talent in the league and the clubs that make up Spanish professional football.

Sevilla FC have drafted in Jorge Paradela as the general manager of business, including the marketing department. RC Celta also have a new director of communications and content, with the mission of strengthening the brand image and communications channels. Marco Rocha will work in close coordination with the commercial and marketing departments.

FC Barcelona, with a refreshed management structure following the arrival of Joan Laporta as president, has added Ferran Reverter, who is the club's new general manager, and with Paloma Mikadze, the new head of digital strategy to continue with the task of further expanding the Blaugrana digital ecosystem.

Granada CF, meanwhile, are the club which has brought in the most reinforcements in the areas of business, management and communications. Francisco Ceballos will act as the head of communications after joining the club last season as press chief. This year he will head up the management of the club's communications department.

Francisco Jimenez has also joined the Granada CF ranks as head of management. His extensive experience in the consulting and auditing sector convinced Los Nazaries that he was their man. Finally, in order to broaden its international business and expand the club's brand image, it has placed its trust in Pablo Garcia as the director of Granada CF's business department. Garcia's experience in the world of football includes working with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and, last season, Athletic Club.

In LaLiga SmartBank, CF Fuenlabrada head into their third consecutive season in the division. With the growth they have achieved on the sporting front, where they have managed to comfortably remain in the second tier and have even had their eyes trained on the upper reaches rather the lower rungs of the table, the club is taking important steps to professionalise all areas of the club.

With the objective of maintaining strong growth, Fuenlabrada have added three new directors. Daniel Vicente, as director of transformation and strategy, will be in charge driving forward internal organisation, business development and strategic agreements; Diego Garcia, director of the foundation, sustainability and CSR, takes on the role of leading the Alneuf Foundation (Fuenla spelled backwards), which seeks to become a yardstick for solidarity and collaboration; and Jaime Castellets, as director of business and marketing, will improve the existing relationships with the current club sponsors, generate new lines of business and increase strategic alliances with new partners.

Finally, Real Sporting have brought in Carlos Andres Llamas as director of communications. The Asturian club is seeking to boost its brand image, in-house communications channels and its relationship with internal and external audiences.
