  • The Spanish club have welcomed 17 American youngsters to their facilities for several months, to offer an academic and sporting education.

Cádiz CF have taken another step towards becoming a worldwide leader in the development of talent. The Spanish club, which has a strategic collaboration agreement with a company called International Soccer Academy, is launching its first academy for American players. With this, 17 youngsters will spend the next several months training at Cádiz CF’s facilities, benefitting from top-level training sessions.

The collaboration agreement signed by Cádiz CF and International Soccer Academy will last until 2027 and will allow even more young talents to train in the same way as the members of the Cádiz CF academy. The educational experience will take place at the prestigious Sage College in Jerez de la Frontera, which is a centre specialising in the training of top-level athletes.

In line with the club’s international development plans and in order to strengthen ties with the United States, Cádiz CF created this first academy exclusively for American players. This should help the club better establish itself in the North American country, as they offer a comprehensive experience for the young talents. Cádiz CF want to train and prepare the youngsters for sporting and academic success, understanding that this will be very beneficial for all parties and serve as an example to help establish several other partnerships of this type.

Rafael Contreras, the vice-president of Cádiz CF, explained: “The club is open to reaching further collaboration agreements of this type with academies around the world. It is very important for us that our international academy continues to advance. In previous years, we have struck similar agreements in other countries and we have developed drafts that have culminated in visits to Cádiz.”

Cádiz CF recently showcased the main features of its academy to the footballers and their families at a joint presentation alongside International Soccer Academy, with the event attended by José Luis Donoso, director of the international department of Cádiz CF, and Diane Brandis Scavuzzo, co-founder of International Football Academy. Both expressed their satisfaction with the alliance and with the chance to provide sporting and academic training for the young talents over the coming months, with the aim of helping them to develop the sporting, social and cultural skills necessary to achieve the greatest success in the future.

Donoso stated: “We are proud to embark on a new project with International Soccer Academy for the growth of American players. This initiative places Cádiz CF on the platform of excellence for international growth in future long-term projects.”

Cádiz CF’s ambition is to continue expanding its brand beyond Spain’s borders and, with this in mind, vice-president Rafael Contreras understands the importance of establishing multiple strategic deals. He pointed out that the United States is a very valuable market for the club, stating: “For several seasons now, there has been an ambitious international expansion strategy at Cádiz CF. The United States is one of our strategic markets. This agreement serves to open a direct way to attract talent from the United States and to train young players who view Spanish professional football as their goal.”

Concluding, the vice-president also spoke about the importance of the US market and its potential for the club, adding: “We know the potential that Cádiz CF has in America. ‘Mágico’ González is our main ambassador through whom football fans learn about Cádiz CF and our objectives. Furthermore, on social media we have detected an exponential increase in interest in learning about our club. Awareness can grow daily and through giant steps as we look to ensure that our digital presence grows in line with our physical presence. Cádiz CF and Cádiz have very significant links with America and we’re going to make the most of this.”
