Cadiz CF reaffirms its objective of offering 360-degree experiences to fans
  • With the new Cadiz CF WebTV platform, the Andalusian outfit furthers its growth in the territory of innovation and technology while progressing with its strategy of offering its fans the best experiences.
  • The platform has allowed fans to follow the team's preseason matches and also offers historic clashes and exclusive content, as well as the ability to follow not just the first team, but also the reserves, Cadiz Women and the youth teams.

Cadiz CF continues to take decisive steps in terms of innovation and technology to offer fans an improved experience. In this vein, the Andalusian club has a new WebTV project which aims to unify all of the club's audiovisual content within a single environment. It is an undoubtedly bold move which kicked off this summer by streaming the first team's preseason matches, and it will be expanded over the course of the season to include all of the club's lower-level and associated teams.

"Cadiz CF WebTV is going to be a space for the club to communicate with all Cadiz enthusiasts in the province, in Spain and around the world. It's a direct communications channel with everyone who feels the passion for the yellow shirt and is excited about being in touch with their club," explains the executive vice-president of Cadiz CF, Rafael Contreras.

Adaptive for different connection speeds and devices

This initiative entails a significant effort by the club and represents a firm commitment to one of the best and largest content search engines which can be adapted to any model. Through the use of a responsive WebTV platform adapted to the streaming systems on the market, the player includes all of the compatibility features on the market, providing an adaptive bitrate which allows it to be used with any connection speed on any device.

"The platform is designed to offer programmes and live events of all kinds, as well as to host and play regular club content, making it the first step towards a 360-degree experience for digital season-ticket holders, who will form part of the fans who do not attend the stadium in person," he goes on to say.

Platform content

In terms of the content on the new digital platform, Cadiz fans will be able to find numerous historic clashes. "Initially we're going to focus on the matches of the '80s and '90s," he adds. Furthermore, all of the preseason matches were broadcast, and the youth team and Cadiz Women matches will be as well.

Recently Cadiz CF has being working on "province building", and so "the channel will also have space for the affiliated teams from the province". Meanwhile, at the professional level, the platform includes a virtual press room with user group access for media professionals to access press conferences, press releases, a chat service or to create video clips to publish on their own channels.

The director of communications, Jose Grima, is equally satisfied with the progress made, assuring that it will also offer "programmes produced in-house" and that the platform will be offered free to the club's season-ticket holders for the first year.

During the launch period, it has been opened up to all fans for free, and now users can opt to purchase a premium package with all of the content, or access selected content on a pay-per-view basis. This means that any fan of any opposing team facing any of Cadiz CF teams at any of the different levels will be able to enjoy the matches for a "symbolic fee".

This latest addition to Cadiz CF's digital ecosystem not only represents another step forward in the 306-degree experience which it is preparing for its fans for this season, but also demonstrates the club's determination to push ahead with its growth and professionalisation.
