Cádiz CF boost 5G connectivity at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla to improve the fan experience and to enhance communication
  • The LALIGA EA SPORTS club will work with a company called Vantage Towers to enhance 5G connectivity in and around their stadium.
  • This will make a visit to the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla more enjoyable and more comfortable for fans, while it’ll also open up opportunities for the club to better connect with visitors to the venue.

Over the past several years, Spanish clubs have made significant improvements to their stadiums with the aim of bettering the matchday experience. One of the latest clubs to take major steps in this sense has been Cádiz CF, who have teamed up with Vantage Towers, a company that specialises in connectivity.

The aim of this alliance is to boost 5G connectivity in and around their stadium, called the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla. The communications company will implement telecommunications infrastructure in the southern city to provide a stronger mobile coverage at the stadium, with the work to take place over the second half of the 2023/24 season.

In the words of Cádiz CF vice-president Rafael Contreras: “We’re aiming for an enhanced fan experience every time they visit our stadium or visit the fan zone during the build-up to matches.”

The improved connectivity will not only ensure that supporters leave the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla having enjoyed a better experience, but it will also allow Cádiz CF to connect with the visitors to the ground through communication channels such as the club app.

As Contreras explained: “We’re very keen for visitors to make better use of the solutions that we make available to them, such as the club’s app, which has all kinds of functionalities: news, access to the stadium, experiences and competitions. We will be able to make substantial improvements to this communication channel with our fans, which will in turn emphasise the importance of data.”

Cádiz CF will also benefit through the greater access supporters will have to social media platforms. If fans are able to post photos and videos from their visit to the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, and interact with the club’s very popular social media accounts, this is another big win for the club and will help to highlight what a fun experience a trip to the ground is.

In 2024, fans expect to remain connected when they attend an event. Having understood this, Cádiz CF have taken the necessary step to achieve, as Contreras put it, “an enhanced fan experience” and “better use of the solutions that we make available to them”.
