LaLiga Tech launches the ‘Maker’ tool to offer clubs greater digital development
  • This is a tool that enables centralised management of clubs’ digital content.
  • Since development started a year ago, four club websites and apps have already gone into production in this way, with around 20 more ready to do so.

‘Maker’ is the latest tool developed by LaLiga Tech to help meet the needs of clubs. This is an intuitive and easy-to-use tool that all clubs can implement in order to unify and centralise their websites, apps and, in the future, other digital assets such as screens, wearables and more.

For the past year, LaLiga has been working to provide clubs with a platform that is designed to have a great social impact and that is compatible with all digital channels. ‘Maker’ is able to provide seamless integration with data and statistics from the world of sport, while it can focus on fan engagement and monetisation. It also facilitates the inclusion of sponsors and partners, while it is compatible with rich media and third-party platforms.

Discussing this, LaLiga Tech stated: “This is a product that will keep evolving and our clients will benefit from these improvements, as they will never have a product that becomes obsolete. Depending on fan behaviour, on the needs of our clients at LaLiga and elsewhere and on the market trends in the digital world around sport, we will incorporate further advanced features that will keep improving, among other things, the fan engagement capabilities for our clients and monetisation.”

In an increasingly globalised and digital world, it is essential to have the best tools on the market. The continuous growth of all LaLiga clubs and the development of their digital strategies go hand in hand with ‘Maker’, since it is a business technology platform that is designed for the sports industry and that puts fans at the centre of the equation to offer them the best experiences and content for their favourite team.

This platform has been in the works for a year now, and SD Huesca and UD Las Palmas are the latest two clubs to join the project, following FC Andorra, FC Cartagena, CD Leganés and Burgos CF in taking this pioneering step in the management of their websites and apps. “The migration is continuing because there are approximately 20 ready to go into production,” LaLiga Tech added.

In conclusion, ‘Maker’ – this unified content manager for websites and apps – is one of the most important projects right now at LaLiga, which has its own technology arm and which aims to bring all resources together to offer the clubs the best support possible, meaning they can provide their fans with the best experiences and the best content on the market.
