For the first time, LaLiga has launched the FIFA 22 Team Of The Season (TOTS) awards together with EA SPORTS, to recognise the best goalkeeper, the 4 best defenders, the 3 most outstanding midfielders and the 3 top strikers in LaLiga. In addition, the remaining four most voted players have been selected to complete the overall winners.

The 15 winners in the first edition of LaLiga's 'Team Of The Season' Gala in association with EA Sports are: Courtois; Militão, Araújo, Alaba, Koundé; Modrić, Pedri, Fekir; Benzema, Vini JR, João Félix; Acuña, Canales, Raúl de Tomás and Muniain.

In Spain, the ceremony could be followed on LaLiga's YouTube, Facebook and Twitch channels, as well as on Movistar and Gol, and also on some international LaLiga broadcaster channels. Those involved were very happy to have received this accolade, which will mark a starting point for future events. Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, wanted to highlight “the importance and pride for LaLiga to be able to present these awards for the first time, and we hope that they will become a distinctive hallmark of the competition and another reason to feel a sense of belonging to LaLiga.”

In LaLiga Santander, the 15 best players of the season have been determined by a public vote, player votes via the Players App and the expert committee, made up of leading journalists. The FIFA 22 Team Of The Season (TOTS) awards had 46 nominees from 15 different LaLiga Santander clubs until the top 15 players of the season were selected from a total of 800.000 votes.
