LaLiga Academy Dallas opens in North America
  • During this first season, players from 5 to 18 years of age will train under the highest standards of global grassroots football through the LaLiga Methodology.
  • It joins the most outstanding grassroots football projects promoted in recent years by LaLiga North America together with LaLiga Grassroots: the academies in New York and Canada, LaLiga Camps USA, the talent detection programme LaLiga Select and the academic-sports programme Vermont Academy LaLiga.

LaLiga has opened its first academy in Dallas, in the US state of Texas, joining the two permanent academies it already operates in the country through LaLiga North America: LaLiga Academy Canada and LaLiga Academy New York, as well as the Vermont Academy LaLiga academic-sports project.

LaLiga Academy Dallas is part of the LaLiga Grassroots sporting project, LaLiga's initiative to boost grassroots football, which now totals more than 550 projects in 43 countries. The organization is a pioneer among the major European leagues thanks to its network of academies that focuses on the development of young international talent, and currently has nine permanent football academies around the world, in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Vietnam, Indonesia and Spain.

LaLiga Academy Dallas, which opened in August, hosts players from 5 to 18 years old, who will train under the highest standards of global grassroots football through the LaLiga Football Methodology, taught by some of the best grassroots football coaches in the organization. These resources will be essential for the development of their personal and sporting potential in FORO Sports Club high-performance facilities in Dallas.

"This new academy is strategic for LaLiga North America: one of our main priorities is to support the development of grassroots football as a means of promoting the sport in the region, especially in view of the 2026 World Cup, which will draw worldwide attention to the region,” said Nicolás García Hemme, VP Strategy & Business Development, LaLiga North America.

In addition to the academies in Canada, New York and Vermont, projects in this sector have multiplied in recent years, and LaLiga North America has launched, together with LaLiga Grassroots, scouting programmes such as LaLiga Select, educational projects such as LaLiga Camps USA in up to 8 different locations in the area, as well as the renewal of its agreement with US Club Soccer until 2025, which includes different programmes for the training of grassroots football coaches. All the projects are based on the LaLiga Methodology, LaLiga's own approach in which more than 200,000 players worldwide have been trained since 2015.

“The LaLiga Methodology focuses on the development of the players from an all-round perspective, encompassing 4 essential elements: tactical-cognitive, technical-coordinative, physical-conditional, and psychological-socio-affective. It also emphasizes talent development and the individualization of the training process, considering that each player's development process requires different needs. This holistic approach can make a difference in modern football,” stated Juan Florit, Head of Sports Projects, LaLiga Grassroots.
